Decarbonisation – driving a cleaner, brighter future

Our commitment to e-mobility is part of our larger commitment to securing more low-emissions transport solutions for the future. Through investment, innovation and partnerships, we are transforming our fleet to reduce emissions today, and take steps towards a more sustainable tomorrow.

Our transition to a green fleet is underway

As part of our investment in e-mobility, we are in the process of introducing 127 heavy duty electric trucks to our fleet throughout Europe. This is a step forward in our development of low-emissions transport solutions, putting us on the road to a 25% electric fleet by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050.

Electric trucks

We are committed to cutting our emissions and leading the way toward more low-emissions transport solutions by replacing our diesel trucks with electric trucks.

Shore power

Our shore power facilities make it possible for the ferries to turn off the ship’s generators while in port, therefore reducing emissions and air pollutants.

Charging stations

Our charging stations provide the infrastructure needed for our eTrucks and therefore help decrease the emissions throughout the supply chain.

Partnerships

By working with industry leaders in sustainable transition, we are working to reduce the intensity of our greenhouse gas emissions for road transport by 75% by 2030 and to become net zero by 2050.

Partnerships

Together with Danish Crown, we invest in initiatives that create reductions immediately and in the long run. This partnership is, therefore, also an investment in developing optimal solutions and processes that can pave the way for further low-emissions reduction solutions. To officially start this journey together we also deployed six new electric trucks into Danish Crown’s road transportation fleet.

Shore power in Copenhagen

Working together with Copenhagen Malmö Port and Actemium, we have established a shore power facility at the ferry terminal in Copenhagen. The facility enables passenger ferries to shut off their engines while in port, which will significantly reduce carbon emissions, cut noise pollution and create an overall better harbour environment. With joint shore power facilities at our Gothenburg and Oslo terminals, the Copenhagen project is the latest in an ongoing initiative to electrify our terminals and create more sustainable transit hubs.

On our way to a sustainable future

Our commitment to e-mobility is part of our larger commitment to a net-zero future. Through innovation and partnerships, we are working to reduce the intensity of our greenhouse gas emissions for road transport by 75% by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2050. Alongside other initiatives, our effort to develop more low-emissions transport solutions plays a key role in immediately reducing greenhouse gas emissions and helping us to take steps towards a more sustainable future.
