Beautiful autumn in Copenhagen

When hot summer days turn into atmospheric autumn days, few rejoice that summer is over. But if you have first experienced Copenhagen on a beautiful autumn day, you can do nothing but long to return.

The city is still full of wonderful experiences, but there is less queue and fewer people. Just a win-win situation if you ask us!

Get ready to experience the city like you have never done before. Wrap yourself in your finest knit sweater, go even closer to your loved one and enjoy the beautiful autumn colors that make their unique mark on the capital.

Activities

Copenhill
Have you ever tried alpine skiing without snow? Run down a green plain on skis just wearing a sweater? No? Then you must visit CopenHill! CopenHill is a year-round outdoor downhill slope located on the roof of an incinerator. Here you will find different slopes with several levels of difficulty and, like all other professional ski resorts, you can end the day with après ski at their own bar and café.

GoBoat In both September and October, you can be lucky and experience lovely autumn days with sun and heat that make you want to throw away your clothes and jump in the canal! If, on the other hand, you would rather be on the water than in, we can recommend GoBoat. Jump on board and cruise around Copenhagen's cozy canals.

outside

Autumn-colored parks
Although we mainly like our parks green, flourishing and full of life, there is something very special about Copenhagen's parks in the autumn. Peaceful, majestic and colorful! How about a leisurely walk in Kongens Have, Assistens Kirkegård or Frederiksberg Have? It is a balm for the soul.

Botanical Garden
Autumn-colored parks are great, but if you miss the summer and want to dream back to sun, heat and green plants, you can always take the trip to the Botanical Garden. Here you can walk among 100-year-old trees, old rose varieties, beautiful perennials and Danish plants. The Botanical Garden also has its own shop where you can buy plants, seeds and books - everything you need to create your own green oasis, both inside and out when spring is back.

Fun for all

Halloween in Tivoli Fill the fall with some nice spookiness! From mid-October, the doors open for 'Halloween in Tivoli', and the park is then decorated with over 20,000 pumpkins, black cats, spiders and scarecrows. Many of the carousels are open, and if you want, you can expose your body to even more horror and stomach-churning experiences.

Children in the big city Copenhagen offers a lot of exciting things for children and families with children. Besides Tivoli and CopenHill, we can mention Zoo Copenhagen, The Blue Planet and Experimentarium. The little ones will also not protest against a shopping spree on Strøget, as long as you visit the favorite stores Lego Store and Disney Store.

Shopping

Flea Market Although summer is a holiday for flea markets in Copenhagen, there are more that will remain well into the autumn. At Frederiksberg flea market, one of the capital's most popular, you can buy Danish and international fashion brands for cheap money. Rovsingsgatemarked is for you who prefer to shop at an indoor market, and here it is open every Saturday and Sunday all year round.

Autumn Shopping For many, shopping on Strøget has become the very symbol of a Copenhagen trip. But on a proper autumn day, there is nothing better than shopping indoors at a modern center. Try e.g. Illum on Strøget, Magasin Du Nord on Kongens Nytorv, or Fisketorvet by Kalvebod pier. Here are shops with something for everyone!

Two favourites

Dyrehaven Dyrehaven is not really located in Copenhagen, but it is only a short train ride away (about 20 minutes). What is not to like? It is a large green area, peaceful and far from the hustle and bustle of the big city - and even on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dyrehaven is a unique nature park consisting of beautiful forest areas, small lakes, open plains, and as the name reveals; animal. Specifically, this is home to over 2,000 wild deer.

Rundetaarn Take the trip up to Rundetaarn which is located in the middle of the capital, and get a fantastic view of the whole city. Tourist attractions like this are usually very expensive, but for only DKK 25, - you can take the trip up to Europe's oldest functioning observatory. It's worth every penny and a little more.

Copenhagen - all year around
